On tuesday evening our town's Historian Al Clark died. Even though he left boxes of notes, I cry to think what he didn't manage to write down. Barre is at a terrible loss without him. Please write stuff down! Let some young family member know what you've done for research and where it is. Share your information every chance you have. Take and label the backs of photos. It just takes two generations to have no idea who is pictured...when that happens, photos will be useless and thrown away. I'm sorry to be so gloomy...he was a friend, mentor and role model. Even though he wasn't particularly interested in Barre Irish, he was proud that I had my own focus and stories to uncover. Please think about this.
