Carrier Boat House
« on: February 05, 2010, 02:47:56 PM »
Hi Worcester Folks,

It has been ages since I have been to Worcester, but since both of my parents had incredible history there, my heart has always had an anchor there. At some point, I will be transcribing my father's words and posting some photos. My Grandfather, H. Carrier, owned a boat house and custom boat building business on the lake This would have been from the early 1900's to the 1920's. They built and raced custom shells, ice boats and racing hydroplane boats. Many were made from Philippine mahogany. My dad's boat was the Canuck B-62 and he raced all over New England and New York (the Hudson races). My dad met my mom on Lake Quinsigamond in the 1920's and they used to dance at a pavilion on the lake and also go to a speak easy there as well!  My father's name was Everett L Carrier and my mom's maiden name was Martha Alice Thomson. I hope this information can help historians from the area as well as help my daughter be able to trace her history. Thanks! Cristy
