I am looking for a model ship of the USS Worcester (CL144).  Anyone know of a local store that may carry it? Thanks in advance.

As far as I know there is no commercially available model of the Worcester or her sister the Roanoke. My father served aboard the Worcester from 1948-1951. There is an association for veterans who served aboard the Worcester. Please see the association's web site: www.ussworcester.com. Plans for the Worcester are available from several different sources if you interested in building a model from scratch - www.windjammer-arts.com and www.floatingdrydock.com are two of them. There is one model builder who has built a model of the USS Roanoke (CL-145)  - here's the url: http://www.jdproduct.com/models/roanoke/roan.htm. This site also has some kits for other ships and may be able to create a kit for you, but it would be expensive.
