Hi all. I am trying to find out more information on a great grandfather. My Grand Father was Joseph Theodore Mailloux. He was born December 7th 1879 to Pierre and Delina. I beleive when he was about 4 years old he was adopted out because his father died and his mother could not care for all 8 children. We beleive that Joseph and a brother Edmund were taken to the priest's house.
I do have adoption papers for Joseph indicating he was born December 7 1879 and adopted out to Ferdinand and Lucy Plante on July 3rd 1883. That would mean my Grand Father was 3 1/2 years old when adopted.

What I am looking for is information on Pierre Maillioux Jr and Delina Mailloux. I would like to find Delinas maiden name. Any info would be of on Pierre or Delina would be of help.

In Worcester, Pierre Mailloux died 1896.  No image given on NEHGS website.  I also found the following children born to Peter & Delima (Lanceault) Mayo in Worcester.  Peter born Canada, a carder by trade, Delima born N.B.
9/25/1875 Joseph Mayo 270:421
8/6/1878 Edmund Mayo 297:392
12/7/1879 Theodore Mayo 306:389 (volume & page number MA vital records)

Ted, if you post on MAWORCES-L@rootsweb.com  there is a woman who does French Canadian research and can probably tell you which churches these clergymen were affiliated with.

Ted, I'm sorry you don't think this family fits your information.  Peter the son of Peter Mailloux marries a woman named Delima and they have a son on 12/7/1879 named Theodore who happens to have a brother named Edmond???

Cheryl

When I first read your reply it just didn't quite fit im my mind. I was concentrating on the last name (Mailloux) because thats what is on the adoption paper for my grand father. Officially it listed the name (Joseph Theodore Mailloux) as the child being adopted by Ferdinand and Lucy Plante. The name (Mayo) does not appear. This probably could be just the way it was listed. What is the number sequence 306:389 for?

Thanks

Ted
